Jose, could you tell us a little more about the man behind the vet?

Yes, of course. I am a very traditional kind of man. Having a family of my own has always been very important to me. Today, I am married to a lovely woman, and together we are blessed with beautiful children. When my family is happy, I am happy.

I have been practicing veterinary medicine for over 10 years, and I am very passionate about my practice, Sayulita Veterinarian and Pet Services. I like to treat each animal as if it is my own pet, and I am always more than happy to answer questions or help in any way possible.

When you grew up, did you always want to be a vet?

I grew up on a ranch and was surrounded by animals. Living in such harmony with, for example, dogs and cats, was the most natural thing for me. I developed an interest in knowing all there was to know about these creatures.

Why did you decide to open your clinic in Sayulita?

After studying and working in the U.S., I came to Mexico looking for a place to call home and to start my own clinic. I instantly fell in love with the beautiful, inspirational town that Sayulita is.

In what way does Sayulita Veterinarian and pet services contribute to the community of Sayulita?

It is essential to us that we help where we can. As a vet in Sayulita, I try to pinpoint the specific needs of our animals, whether that be animals that come to our clinic or are stray/neighborhood dogs, we help where we can. If needed, Sayulita Veterinarian and Pet Services also looks for new homes for cats and dogs that are abandoned. In reality, however, every consult that we do is a contribution to our community. Every animal that we help, that we take care of, is for Sayulita’s best interest and keeps our community healthy. 

What services does Sayulita Veterinarian and Pet Services offer?

We offer a quality service for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses. We also offer pet counseling (nutritional and behavioral), as well as grooming (baths and haircuts) for your furry friend. Medicine, food, and a variety of accessories are available for purchase at our clinic. If you are traveling from Sayulita, we can also arrange health certificates for traveling, vaccinations, and more.
