Villa Karuna & SolAgua in Sayulita, Mexico is a two story, spacious 3000 sq ft. romanitc & beautiful home that has been custom handcrafted throughout. Attention to detail is evident in the marble, onyx and tile work in the kitchen and the bathrooms, as well as in the artwork, the statues and surrounding beautiful gardens.
Located in one of the last remaining tropical jungles by the sea in Mexico, Villa Karuna, sits high on a jungle ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The beautiful, expansive view includes magnificent sunsets over the sea as well as an ongoing amazing bird watching opportunity.
The spacious, well-appointed kitchen is designed for your entertaining pleasure. Downstairs there is an open floor plan with a living room, a dining room and a handcrafted parota bar that seats 6 while it looks out onto the deck, the pool, the jungle and the ocean.
Upstairs there are 2 air conditioned master suites plus a 3rd bedroom. Each suite includes a king-sized bed, glorious bathroom and private deck. The master bath features a two person custom onyz/granite hot tub for your romantic and relaxing pleasures. Additionally, between the two suites, is a large deck affording plenty of room to read, practice yoga, enjoy a sunset margarita/tea or simply enjoy the view. Villa Karuna was designed to increase your connection with nature by bringing the outside inside. The entire ocean side of the house uses bi-fold local wood framed glass doors as walls so you can enjoy the open air or close them and still see the magnificent view of the ocean and sunsets. Although the gentle breeze keeps the rooms cool, air conditioning is available in each of the suites. Karuna feels like a private sanctuary.. a place to relax.
Our other house on the property, perfect for a couple, Casa SolAgua, is a secluded ridgetop romantic hideaway and is a 700 sq ft. bungalow style home. It features a king size bed, outstanding 360 degree views, a full kitchen, a large bathroom, is air-conditioned and sits on top of the world. It is perfect for 2 people maximum 3. It is completely private from the main house and it can be used to house additional members of your family/party.
Our beautiful 3-bedroom home, VIlla Karuna, plus our Casa SolAgua Bungalow is located south of Sayulita's town plaza. Located on a 7 acre estate It is very private and gated. It is the perfect location at the edge of town, near enough to walk, drive or hop a taxi for all the great food, beach time, shopping and nightlife, but far enough to be away from all the hustle and bustle and party noise. It's perfect for your relaxing, private and peaceful vacation opportunity.
Villa Karuna's property has a 3 bedroom home that sleeps 5-6 people. Casa SolAgua is a 1 bedroom studio style bungalow. It sleeps 2-3. The entire property can be rented to sleep up to 9 people.

Deposit: 50% of rental amount to reserve houses; balance to be paid 30 prior to arrival. Discounts for 1+ weeks.
Cancellation: Up to thirty days prior to occupancy deposit fully refunded. If you cancel after that you will receive a refund only if we are able to rent the property to another party.

The owner and property manager (Eric) helped us to arrange for an airport pickup through Ernesto, who stopped at the grocery for us on the way to the villa so we could provision.
We use Town Around Golf Carts - they had the golf cart delivered to the villa for us and picked it up at the end of our stay. You will want a car or a small car (town parking is tight). You could walk to town but it's a haul and there isn't a trail or anything, you are walking the same road you'd drive in a cart. Cart ride is five minutes to the plaza and it's super easy.
The private beach is accessible from the same road that gets to the villa (turn right at the Y before you turn left for the villa) - you go all the way to the bottom of the hill where there is an old sentry gate where you park. From there it's a short walk. The road to the beach is steep, but navigable in a fuel-injected golf cart.
Ruben (he has a restaurant off the plaza) made meals for us, we hired him for one meal a day, brunch or dinner depending. Portions were perfect and each day he left us with chips and guac/salsa so we always had plenty of food on hand if we didn't want to leave the villa. You can have food delivered or it's super easy to run in for take out and of course, there are tons of restaurants for dining out.
The villa has maybe the best view the in entire region. We had most dinners in so we wouldn't miss the breathtaking sunsets.
Birdwatchers will be in bliss and we also saw a couple of Caotis (long tail raccoons that look a little like monkeys).
The pool is small, but perfectly lovely and fine for 4-6ppl at a time.
The house was perfectly stocked for meals and everything else you'd need. There were games and even sun hats in the cupboard.
