Sayulita Life’s Featured Business: Emma Caravaglio Photography
Hi! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi, my name is Emma. I’m originally from a small town in the Swiss Alps, but I’ve been living in San Pancho for the past three years. I have a deep love for culture and art, but I also cherish the slow-paced coastal life and the warmth of this region. I studied social work and worked in the field for many years, which is what first brought me to Latin America. I initially traveled to Argentina and then explored other parts of the continent from there.
How did you first arrive in Sayulita?
Five years ago, I was traveling over the summer, and a friend—who is now my boyfriend—invited me to visit him here. I was supposed to return home for my master’s program, but I ended up never boarding my flight!
What about Sayulita inspired you to stay and start your business here?
I realized that Sayulita has everything I love: art, yoga, and nature. It’s also located in Latin America, a place I’ve always felt drawn to. Everything just fell into place naturally.
How did you get into photography?
I started five years ago, initially just taking photos for fun as I traveled. Then, during COVID, I began experimenting with self-portraits, and from there, my interest grew and expanded.
