Restaurant Haramara in Sayulita is a unique fine dining experience in the stunning outdoor jungle setting of Haramara Retreat which overlooks the ocean. The restaurant serves gourmet three or four course meals which blend organic and local ingredients that are health conscious and are vegetarian, vegan, or seafood inspired. The idea or inspiration behind Restaurant Haramara was…The purpose was to provide a beautiful and natural environment in an open space overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Jungle of Haramara Retreat, as the proper space to offer the best quality slow-cooking food, using organic and local products. Our Chef graduated at the best gastronomic school in Mexico City. He has a French-classical background and masters presently a variety of Vegetarian, Vegan, and Pesquetarian schools of cooking comprising the best of the Mediterranean and Mexican Cuisine.
The overall menu concept could be described as…Our dinner menus include three to four courses of the following items:
- Fresh and unique salads and soups, cold or warm, very fresh and nourishing.
- Well balanced and vitalizing main courses from the Mediterranean, Asian, and Mexican cooking arts.
- Exquisite and original vegetarian lasagnas, various Buddha Bowls based on quinoa, buck wheat, polenta or brown rice, with a selection of fresh vegetables, avocado, fermented foods, and nuts / sprouts. These are just a few examples from the large list of options.
- Homemade ice creams, including the special Haramara Mousse au Chocolat, made from the best-quality Belgium cacao, along with homie fruit pies and profiteroles.
Some of your favorite dishes are…The stars of our cuisine vary almost daily, but today I could mention our Indian Dal with vegetables and coconut, or the fabulous fresh red snapper, Dorado, which is tenderly cooked and savory spiced, then embedded in asparagus and organic baby potatoes. Another favorite is the King Shrimp in a delicious garlic and butter sauce accompanied with spinach puree and roasted tomatoes. I also love the Vegan Lasagna made with braised vegetables like zucchinis, aubergine, red and green peppers, tomatoes, oregano, parsley, and garlic, and with Indian nuts butter. For dessert I love the Chocolate Nuts Brownie & the sugar free Mousse au Chocolat.
