Live, Love & Eat in Sayulita is a one of a kind catering experience. Cooking and baking exotic appetizers, and sweet desserts is a specialty of Karina, the creator of Live, Love & Eat in Sayulita. Over the years, Karina has been perfecting and sharing her food and has a regular food column in the Sayulita Newsletter, El Sayulero.

"I have been baking fancy cakes and appetizers for over 30 years! They are my favorite things to make (and to eat)!
I have catered small private dinner parties, given small cooking classes, and made cakes and appetizers for private cocktail parties, birthdays, anniversaries etc.
My commitment is to use only the BEST ingredients, the best recipes and of course since we EAT with our eyes first, I always make everything beautiful to look at!
The wonderful cakes: Creamy Cheesecakes; Chocolate or white cakes; Fruit Tartes; a favorite of many, light airy Shmoo Cake; and of course Carrot Cake!
The appies I love to make: Olive Yumyums; Mushroom Goat Cheese Galettes, Rosemary and Cracked Pepper Baguettes; Olive Tapenade; Mushroom Cheese Rolls; Flakey Cinnamon rolls; and many others... so delicious!"

Quite the Treat!

Karina made all the treats for a birthday celebration with friends and family in Sayulita-- birthday cake, cheesecake, and lots of finger foods. Everything was delicious, and I know that it was tons of work to pull off. Particular favorites were the yum yums (a huge hit) and the mushroom galette. My favorites were the sweets!

Amazing Biscuits!

I just want to want to share that we have made the Cheesy Sayulita Biscuits at least a half dozen times and they are always a crowd pleaser. Super easy and so yummy. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

Yep ...I’m the husband hero that Karina made.
I found her on Sayulita Life. Her representation on the site was that she would bake Wedding Cakes to order. That told me that she could produce exactly the right cake if given appropriate parameters. Brides are demanding I am told. She could surely accommodate me.
The rest of the story is as Karina describes. A work of culinary art.
Karina is my baking hero.

Food made with heart!

I have been very lucky to be able to try few of her specials. Both: appetizers and desserts made by Karina were absolutely delicious! Bursting with freshness and the best ingredients and of course so beautiful to look at! Just wonderful!

Delicious carrot cake!

I tried Karina's carrot cake at a local fundraiser for ProSayulita and it was one of the best I've ever had! Super delicious, and I appreciated that it didn't have nuts. The cream cheese frosting was out of this world! I was happy to learn she makes cakes on order. Next time I am in need of a cake for a special meal, I will definitely contact Karina.

I love to LIVE, I love to LOVE, & I love to EAT! Since my early 20’s my husband and I used to read Gourmet magazine, choose a recipe that looked & sounded delicious & then make it as our Saturday date night. We always chose something that we had never made or tasted before. My Apple Gruyere Quiche, see pic above, is 1 of the dishes we tried & I have been making it ever since! It was so much fun & to this day, although we are no longer married, we both love to make yummy food. I began to write LIVE LOVE & EAT IN SAYULITA to follow my passion! It has been so much fun for me to share recipes of different foods that are Tried & True. My favourite foods to make are Appies & Fancy Desserts.
