Welcome to Villa Dorado Penthouse in Sayulita! The signature Penthouse suite of Villa Dorado. Accommodating 2 people, the Penthouse has been designed for high end couples, and potentially longer stays, in mind. Sitting high atop Villa Dorado, this is a massive, 2-level suite featuring a gorgeous lounge area, fully equipped kitchen, complete with sit-up bar against quartz countertops, a dishwasher and all the conveniences and comforts of home. The top level features your own private rooftop terrace, perched high in the palm trees and with surreal ocean views. The sound of the ocean along with the birds and overall tranquility really make this a special space to relax and soak up the Sayulita experience. The secured, climate controlled master king suite feature a King Size bed adjacent to a large sliding glass door for that peaceful, soothing open-air feel yet totally private. This space also features an ensuite bathroom and separate lounging are for catching up on email or watching Netflix.
If you are holidaying with another couple, a truly unique feature of the Dorado Penthouse is its ability to rent it in tandem with the Villa Robalo Penthouse next door. There is a shared door, locked off from each side, that can be opened allowing guests to socialize and flow through to each suite when rented together. Villa Dorado is located on the quieter and sought after north side of town, in the beachfront Villas del Palmar complex, fully gated with 24 hour onsite security. The Plaza and Sayulita’s el centro, loaded with authenticity and the true pulse of this Pueblo Magico, is only a 5 minute walk away where you are treated to some of the best dining and shopping in all of Riviera Nayarit. Everything Sayulita has to offer, all within walking distance, and no steep hills to climb, this location simply can’t be beat.
Fully renovated in 2018 by a top Sayulita architect, and brought to life with professional interior design adding warmth and contemporary Mexican finishes. Sensitive to the environment and the growing burden being placed on Sayulita’s infrastructure, a complex, 18-panel solar array was installed to net zero Villa Dorado’s energy consumption.
Villa Dorado also features open-air living, with the lounging, dining and kitchen spaces open to enjoy the tropical environment making for a truly unique holiday experience. The sleeping and bathroom spaces are fully secured and climate controlled for your ultimate privacy and comfort. Villa Dorado consists of 3 separate suites - Dorado A (1 BR), Dorado B (2BR) & Dorado Penthouse. These suites can be rented individually or together to comfortably accommodate 10 people. I spent one of the days alternating between private sunbathing on the rooftop terrace and ocean swims since the beach was literally footsteps from the door. I started ocean swimming first thing in the morning when the beaches were nearly empty and the location made this so easy to do.
The nearby restaurants and food stands gave easy access to everything I could want. A quick stop at Terrenal on my way into town also gave me some organic provisions for the well-stocked, easily usable kitchen.
In terms of noise, it is more lively than other north end spots I’ve stayed (live music across the street) but things did quiet down by 10 or 11 and with doors and windows shut for sleep, I had no issues and I am on the sensitive side with sounds at night. A person could easily sleep with fans on and windows open if that was their thing.
I found the place as a whole to be very tranquil while still feeling connected to life around me… happening at times, peaceful overall, and not too remote. It is predominantly filled with families with children, but I felt welcomed being there solo.
The staff was helpful with any requests and booking process and communications with Eric were easy.
In all, I loved it and was so glad I made the choice.
