Description

Casa Pacifico in La Penita is a 30 minute drive north of Sayulita on the beautiful Riviera Nayarit coastline. Tired of the "walk to the beach" descriptions that are really several miles away? (I suppose I could walk to New York if I really wanted to!) This is a true walk to the beach property, located half a block from the beach - 100 steps (a few more if you're short!). Very calm beach at the northern end of Jaltemba Bay. La Penita is a true Mexican village slightly off the beaten track.

Welcome to Casa Pacífico in beautiful Nayarit, Mexico. The property itself consists of two units surrounding a shared pool and garden. The units may be rented separately or together. For Individual rates and pricing details please visit the following pages:

Sonrisa at Casa Pacifico | Alegria at Casa Pacifico

Casa de Sonrisas is a one bedroom one bath unit with a queen bed, and a great private terrace. Sit outside in the morning for coffee, or in the evening to watch the sunset while listening to the waves and catching the ocean breeze. Lots of windows for light and air. Private entrance to your second floor home! Casa de Sonrisas is suitable for two adults. There is a pull out sofa in the living room that could sleep 1-2 children.

Casa de la Alegría is a two bedroom, one bath unit with A/C in the bedrooms and accommodates 4 guests. Sit outside in the garden right outside your door for morning coffee, or in the evening, take the stairs to your roof at sunset, while you listen to the waves and catch the ocean breezes. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to be here during one of the many meteor showers! This casita is a detached unit, separate from the main house, and adjacent to the pool. A full kitchen in each unit allows you to eat in whenever you like but you are still close enough to town to head in to one of the outstanding cafes and restaurants.

All linens and towels are supplied (including beach towels). Beach chairs and umbrellas also available for guests. I have tried to equip the home with everything you will need - basic spices, cooking oil, bottled water, etc.) but if there is anything else you require, just ask. Restaurants and shops a few blocks away either through town or a short walk down the beach. Close enough for convenience and all supplies, far enough away to be private and "non-touristy".

A short walk down the beach will take you to cafes and restaurants in minutes. Or you can purchase delicious tamales and tortillas from the street vendors and shops in the neighborhood.

It's a short drive or cab ride to all the activities you may want, such as zip-lining, jet ski rentals, surfing, mountain villages, Compostela and Tepic, or even Puerto Vallarta if you need a high-end shopping fix. Be sure not to miss the local markets! Thursdays in La Penita year round, seasonally - Mondays in Guayabitos, Fridays in Sayulita, Saturdays in Lo de Marcos, Sundays in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. Fresh produce, pastries, candied nuts and coffee as well as local artists displaying their creations - weaving, jewelry, Huichol art and more! This the perfect home base while you explore all that Riviera Nayarit has to offer: colonial buildings in nearby towns, surfing in Sayulita, jet-skiing, mountain drives, markets, ruins, hot springs, volcanos, and miles and miles of beach.

You can easily explore the other towns in the area -  Sayulita, San Pancho, Rincon de Guaybitos, Los Ayala, and Lo de Marcos. You will be about an hour from Playa las Tortugas and the turtle camp there. San Blas is another hour beyond. If you are looking for a posh resort with non stop entertainment, this is probably not the place for you. If, however, you are looking for a place to kick back and relax, away from the frenzied resorts, bask in the sun at either the beach or by the pool, and drink in the authentic culture, this is definitely your vacation spot.

Please use the contact form to get in touch by email or phone, with any questions and to book your stay. We look forward to welcoming you to Casa Pacifico!

beautiful home & excellent location
The week I spent with family here was wonderful. The units are clean and well supplied. The owner left a book that offers suggestions for local eating spots, sightseeing, transportation and more. The beach is just down the block. It is clean and not terribly crowded. Beautiful sunsets.

The main part of town is just a few blocks walk, but if you are like me and find walking difficult, a taxi into town is only a couple of dollars.

The locals were extremely nice everywhere we went, and willing to help us with our limited Spanish skills.

We enjoyed a variety of local eateries, but also enjoyed preparing some of our own food in the well equipped kitchen.

There are many tours and sights close in the area, so you won’t have a problem finding things to see and do. You also can enjoy down time in the backyard gardens by the pool.

Can't wait to come back!
I have stayed at Casa Pacifico on two occasions. Both times the rooms and amenities were beyond my expectations. The host is very accommodating and very knowledgeable on the area. Our rooms were well stocked and clean. The linens and Towels were plush, soft and clean. It’s a Short walking distance to town and just a few houses down from the beach. We loved the local feel and not the packed resort atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Really enjoyed our stay.

10/10 Recommend
My stays ( five times) at Casa Pacifico have been wonderful. My most recent stay was no exception. Lissa has always gone beyond what is expected of a rental host with her professionalism, friendly hospitality, and willingness to help with questions about the area. I have also enjoyed some of Lissa’s fresh baked goods. The cinnamon rolls are to die for!! I have stayed in both her one bedroom and two bedroom units. Both are extremely comfortable and provide a great vacation home. I enjoy cooking and the kitchens have everything needed for making delicious meals. As well as the comfort of the units, Casa Pacifico’s location is excellent — walking distance to most anywhere you may want to go in the La Peñita area and it is truly about 100 steps to the beauty of the beach. I can’t say thank you enough to Lissa for helping to provide a place for me to enjoy some of the best days of my year — at Casa Pacifico in La Peñita Nayarit.

Super Fun Vacation
My Sister-In-Law and I just had the best stay in La Penita at Casa Pacifico. The place was super nice and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, bedrooms were comfy and Air Conditioned and the bathroom was nice and updated! Sitting by the pool in the hammock was a must and the close walk to the beach and stores was so fun to see the locals who were nice and welcoming. The food at the restaurants was Great. Lyssa was Super helpful and full of information about the surrounding area. A definite KEEPER!!

Loved this place
We're stayed here the end of November. It was just before the high travel season and was just perfect timing. The casita we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. Fully furnished kitchen, two bedroom, dining/living area, and nice bathroom. Unit was stocked with bath and beach towels. The patio and garden area were clean and very enjoyable with a nice swimming pool. It was a short walk into town and the beach is just past a few houses down the street. Located in a local neighborhood and not in a resort neighborhood. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming. Loved being right in local culture.

Authentic Experience
I had a very good stay at this casita. Lissa is a terrific host; she went out of her way to make sure I had dinner on my first night along with a trip to the grocery store, and was always ready with advice and contacts to provide anything that I could need. The casita is surrounded with a lovely terrace, pool, lounge chairs and hammocks, and has comfortable beds. It is as advertised, just a block to the beach. Just an easy 10 minute walk along the beach leads to town. You will however find plenty of N. Americans who come to stay for longer periods. This is not a fancy resort town but a more authentic Mexican experience, just what I wanted. The nights were peaceful and I loved swinging in the hammock and watching the stars. I can't stress enough that Lissa is warm and helpful and made it very easy to get set up in the town. I recommend her and her rental!

great location
This is in the perfect location! A nice close walk to the beach and to the town where you will find everything you need! We enjoyed living in a real Mexican neighborhood, you will never get this experience at a resort! The unit is well equipped and comfortable with a great private terrace which we loved to sit out in the mornings... The pool and courtyard is lovely, it was nice to dip in the pool after a long day at the beach. The owner was very helpful with any questions. We only had one complaint the whole time we were there, our ceiling fan squeaked and as soon as we mentioned it , Lissa had them both replaced!

We have booked for next year and already we can't wait! Thank you so much Lissa for a great accommodation!

best so far
We stayed in the upper unit for a month and have already booked for next year. The bed was very comfortable. The unit is spotlessly clean, well equipped, and has wonderful ventilation. There is a notebook like a little guide with maps, restaurant tips, and guidance on tipping. Really nice to have laundry on site. The beautiful beach is just a short walk away or you can also relax by the pool. The owner is around if you have questions but she also respects your privacy. I really enjoyed being in a Mexican neighborhood, seeing the school kids, watching the dogs snooze, stopping by the tortilleria to get fresh tortillas for lunch or picking up a mini-Magnum ice cream bar at the corner store. You can get by just fine without knowing any Spanish except Please, Thank you, excuse me. I have been coming to this area for 20 years and this is my favorite place to stay so far.

perfect vacation!
What a perfect location. Just like the description says, steps from the beach. Nice slope into the water, perfect temperature. The town of La Peñita is a wonderful little Mexican town with lots of shops and restaurants. This isn't the big, fancy tourist destination, just a real little Mexican town. The apartment itself is very spacious and well equipped. Kitchen is a small but had everything we needed. The owner is onsite and was so very helpful with suggestions of places to eat and things to see. I highly recommend this rental and we will definitely be back! Great place, for a reasonable price.

Originally from Colorado, I decided to make a major change and moved to Mexico. I love the Nayarit coast and settled on La Penita, a small town slightly off the beaten track with a lovely, uncrowded beach. Come stay at either of the homes at Casa Pacifico and find out why Nayarit is so special.
