Wednesday’s Covid-19 Deaths Set A New Record In Mexico
Mexico’s Coronavirus death toll was pushed past 6,000 on Wednesday. Director of Epidemiology Jose Luis Alomia said that an additional 726 fatalities are suspected of having been caused by Covid-19. Furthermore, with 2,248 new confirmed cases, Mexico’s cumulative case tally is now 56,594. There are 12,085 active cases, 31,866 suspected cases and 193,589 people have been tested.
One month has now passed since the government declared phase three of the pandemic. Despite the case numbers increasingly growing, the national social distancing initiative is scheduled to end May 30 with June 01 starting the return to “the new normal”.
