Sayulita Supper Club : Bread and Butter What Could be Better
You might have heard of butter boards, they’ve been somewhat trending on social media lately, so I was intrigued to make one! Here’s my take on the butter board.
This sharing plate is great for get-togethers, Sayulita dinner parties, and date nights! It’s super easy to throw together and you can switch up the toppings depending on your preferences. All ingredients are found in Sayulita at your local ‘tienda’.
start by sourcing some good butter, if you’re into butter you know how important it is to use good quality produce especially if it’s going to be the main character of the dish! I headed over to the new Trancos store in Sayulita to buy some, I went for unsalted. For the toppings I chose to add roasted garlic, roughly chopped basil in olive oil, and a chili oil, with some lemon rind as a garnish. Served with a toasted baguette.
The only cooking you will have to do is roast the garlic!. Chop off the top and cover with foil, then throw it in the oven for about 15 minutes. Now spread your butter artfully onto your choice of board, and don’t get too close to the corners! (like i did) place on your toppings and your’e good to go!
