Save the Date: The 6th Annual Trashion Fashion Show is Coming!
Mark your calendars! The 6th Annual Trashion Fashion Show is set for May 7th at 5:30 PM at Rancho Poco a Poco—a night of creativity, sustainability, and community support you won’t want to miss!
This unique fashion show is all about turning trash into treasure. Every outfit on the runway is crafted entirely from recycled or repurposed materials, proving that sustainability and style can go hand in hand. More than just a show, this event raises crucial funds for Azul Sayu’s community recycling program, which helps keep Sayulita and its surrounding areas clean and green.
Why This Event Matters
Azul Sayu receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations to continue its mission. Their impact is huge:
–Over 180 recycling bins in Sayulita and San Ignacio—a 50% increase in the past year!
–More than 3 tons of waste recycled each month during high season, keeping it out of landfills.
–100% of recycled materials stay in Mexico, reducing environmental impact.
–Monthly beach cleanups with local families and kids, teaching future generations about sustainability.
–Free recycling services for the community, with only 25% of the budget covered by private pick-up fees.
Despite its success, the program urgently needs funding to continue and expand in 2025. The monthly budget is $40,000 pesos, covering salaries for two employees, rent for the sorting facility, recycling processing fees, gas, vehicle maintenance, and more. 75% of Azul Sayu’s budget comes from generous community donations—and they need our help to keep going!
