Puerto Vallarta Prepares Marketing Campaign To Recover Lost Tourism
Puerto Vallarta’s new marketing campaign has the goal of getting visitor numbers back to pre-pandemic levels by the end of the year. The campaign will target Canada, US, and Mexico’s largest cities.
Jalisco’s government will contribute 100 million pesos ($4.6 million USD) to the efforts of reviving tourism in Vallarta, just south of the Nayarit border.
German Ralis, Jalisco Tourism Minister is hopefully visitor numbers will start increasing over the summer. However, this campaign is aimed to attached visitors in fall and winter months.
To support the campaign, some Jalisco hotels will offer three-nights-for-two promotions and some restaurants will offer special deals as well.
Jalisco has recorded 2,136 Coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, June 3rd. 790 are still active. 276 people have tested positive in Vallarta.
