November Recipient of Sayulita Life’s $5000 Donation: Casa Esperanza Women’s Shelter
Sayulita Life gives back to the community every month by donating $5,000 to a local cause or charity in need. Sayulita Life has chosen Casa Esperanza Women’s Shelter.
Casa Esperanza is the local women’s shelter providing safety for women and their children escaping domestic violence. The shelter is free of cost for the women and children to heal mentally and physically.
75% of women in the Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita region experience some form of domestic violence. Casa Esperanza provides safe housing, education including ESL, legal procedures assistance, employment opportunities, small no-interest business loans to women, psychological and physical health components including child and mom counseling sessions in a nurturing, supportive and non-judgmental environment.
Casa Esperanza takes domestic violence against women very seriously. It’s imperative that women and their children be provided safe refuge from abuse. They are committed to providing this service that is so badly needed in Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita, and the surrounding areas of Mexico. In order to provide this service, Casa Esperanza is maintaining and constructing shelters and drop-in centers in discrete locations, nondisclosure of facility locations is imperative if the organization is to be able to provide a safe refuge.
November 25th is the International Day to Eliminate Violence Against Women. Casa Esperanza hopes with community involvement and compassion, we can support each other. It is the hope that by assisting mothers leaving violence, we can end the cycle for the future.
A fundraiser is being held on November 25th in the plaza of Sayulita. Donations of household goods and clothing to the plaza on November 25th will be of great help for families in transition. As a not-for-profit organization registered in Jalisco, all financial donations for Casa Esperanza are tax-deductible in Mexico and USA.
Tax-deductible cash, check or credit card donations help build new shelters and drop-in centers as well as cover the costs of day-to-day operations. If you are local to Sayulita or traveling to the Banderas Bay region, Casa Esperanza is in continual need of hygiene products, toiletries, luggage, clothing, craft supplies, and cleaning products. The possibilities are as big as your heart, and your help is greatly appreciated!
