Mexico’s Confirmed Coronavirus Cases; Tuesday April 14th
According to Mexico’s Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez Gatell, phase three will bring a very rapid spread of COVID-19. As the case numbers continue to rise steadily, citizens are urged to stay at home to reduce the number of new cases.
Although authorities have worked to prepare the system for a large influx of patients affected by COVID-19, they worry the spread could be so quick during phase three that hospitals will be too overwhelmed to cope. The Mexican government is considering implementing stricter lockdown rules including an obligatory home quarantine and health curfew. The current fatality rate in Mexico is 7.52 per 100 cases.
