Coronavirus Quarantine Extended Through May 30th
Secretary of Health, Hugo Lopez Gatell announced April 16th the COVID-19 quarantine will be extended through May 30th nationwide. Based on the projection and statistical behavior of the pandemic, they expect the peak of infections to occur between May 8th – 10th. All municipalities with very few or no reported cases of COVID-19 will be permitted to return to classes and normal activities on May 17th,
Lopez Gatell stated Phase 3 of COVID-19 is inevitable and approximately 463 municipalities are already in phase 3. During phase 3 the spread of the virus is more rapid and much harder to contain. The demographics most at risk are elderly, pregnant women and people with chronic diseases.
