Sign In Create free accountThe highly anticipated Festival Sayulita is quickly approaching and will take place January 14th through January 18th. This year's festivities will be even bigger and more diverse than last year. There will be more movies, spirits, surfing and food pairings. A Children's Day, full of family friendly activities, and an entire day of live music, with over 20 bands, will be added to the mix.
The funds raised through this festival will go towards building a bilingual Center de Transformacion. This space will be used for workshops, such as board shaping and making natural cleaning products. There will be a fully-equipped kitchen for instruction and to also support shows in the amphitheater space. There will be a community garden and an in-house store, allowing workshops to sell their products. This center will be all about local resourcing and skills. To help support this project, Festival Sayulita has partnered with tourism boards and their sponsors.
This year, the seven meter beach screen will again be utilized, as well as an addition of an indoor matinee venue. Some of the movie acceptances have already been announced.
Nunca Regreses is directed by Leonardo Diaz. This is a touching story about two young friends who accept a job, ignoring the fact that they may never return to the place they use to hang out or return to life as they knew it.

In the face of this modern progression, the Huicholes begin a spirtual movement to protect their way of life.
Big in Japan is a musical comedy that follows a struggling Seattle band in Tokyo who are trying to make it big.
Festival Sayulita and Sayulita Surf Club has teamed up to co-present Mexi Log Fest 2015. This is a competition of the world's best long boarders. There will be a cash prize of $10,000 USD and will be split between the men's and women's classes. These surfers will be judged on traditional longboard style, with a progressive flair. This competition will take place on Friday, January 16th and Sunday, January 18th.
