Best place we have ever stayed at in this area
Matt and Jess are the owners of this property and they were some of the most gracious hosts that we have ever met. The property was beautiful and the sunsets from the balcony and pool deck were spectacular. We stayed in La Vista. this unit have two balconies and a full kitchen with a washer and dryer. The bed was very comfortable. The water was delicious and came from a artesian well and then filtered. This property is very secluded and is located about 15 minutes golf cart ride from downtown Sayulita, the only sound you here at night are ocean waves. Being secluded also gives you access to two beautiful beach that at most had 5 people on them any day we went. The beaches are a 10 minute walk from Cinetica. If you like a secluded vacation and still want the nightlife of Sayulita this is the place for you.

One part adventure + two parts luxury = Cinetica
Last month I had the great pleasure of staying at Cinetica with my son. We had planned a trip to Nuevo Vallarta and decided to extend our stay and explore Sayulita for a few days. We expected great waves and a great vibe (we've heard about Sayulita for years), but we did not expect to find such a unique and wonderful home base for our Sayulita adventure.
The property is exceptional. Tucked into the jungle hillside Cinetica is envelopes you in nature and tranquility. Our suite was quite close to others, but I always felt as though we were in complete privacy due to how the property was laid out. The pool is beautiful, and two beaches within a short walk are beautiful and nearly private.
The owners/hosts were warm welcoming and made us feel at home right away. They were incredibly gracious with my young son and made a lasting impression (he talks about wanting to go back to Cinetica almost daily).
Pros:
+ Off the beaten path (quiet and secluded)
+ Beautiful, spacious suites
+ Lush jungle setting
+ Easy access to amazing beaches

Cons:
- Limited dining options. We cooked in our suite, and it worked out very well. Just know that you will not be walking to the taqueria

I can't wait to visit Cinetica again!

Beautiful Oasis outside of bustling town
We stayed here in December prior to all the holiday hoopla and found it to be just what we needed to relax and unwind. The place is absolutely beautiful- I was really blown away and excited. Really the pictures don't do it justice. Our room was well appointed and large, open and had great views. We were even able to see some whales from our balcony. We enjoyed the sweet rescue pups and Steve's company. If getting to town is a top priority, you can walk it- but it is a bit of a hike. We rented a golf cart and had a blast getting it to and from town. Would absolutely do it again!!

A perfect way to spend the Christmas season
We have just returned from a fabulous week at Hacienda de la Costa. The accommodation was spotless, bright and refreshing. Perfect hosts, always available with information for sightseeing opportunities, and local haunts. Hacienda is a quiet location which provides beautiful scenery and a spectacular ocean view (the binoculars provided help with spotting whales every now and then). We have experienced many all-inclusive resorts in the past but after our stay at Hacienda know that private villas are our vacation choice from now on. We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere, and the freedom to come and go as we please with no deadlines. We also enjoyed the fact that Hacienda only has accommodations for 10 people which provides a more homely and relaxed atmosphere than the larger resorts. We met some wonderful couples from near and far who have provided us with fond memories.
The town of Sayulita was an easy 45 minute walk down hill, although we didn't try the walk back up. However, the younger couples found the walk quite easy. Taxis were always available in town back to the villa if need be. Hacienda was perfect on every level, we will definitely be returning there soon. Thank you Steve and Terri for the perfect end to 2013.

Perfectly beautiful with exquisite gardens
From the first moment when Steve greeted us and our taxi driver at the gate, we felt welcomed and at home. Hacienda de la Costa is quietly elegant with several buildings arranged around it's gorgeous outdoor pool. Every suite has been composed with much care and attention so that guests flow gently around each other but have privacy when they want it. The owners know the area well and are the perfect hosts, friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Their rescue pets made the experience even more lovely, we fell for their latest adoptee, tiny Shell, in a big way.
Our room was very spacious with a tiled bathroom and looked past perfectly manicured gardens to the blue Pacific.

There are two untrammelled beaches within easy walking distance and town is an inexpensive taxi ride or an interesting walk away. We saw whales, exotic seabirds, and collected shells on empty expanses of white sand. Along the country road, a huge variety of many-colored butterflies hovered over flowering bushes. It felt like Eden.
The best part of all was the lovely surroundings and our gracious, warm-hearted hosts. We give them 5 stars.

Peaceful oasis
Hacienda de la Costa was the best lodging decision we could have taken for our stay in Sayulita. It is close to town but offers the tranquility of a gated community, with gorgeous gardens and lovely pool area. The rooms are spacious, bright and offer intimacy. Views are stunning and you can walk to a quiet beach with a nice surf break in 15m. All shared precious advices for our day trips were our daily morning highlights. We'll miss it!

Quiet, safe, and luxurious. It does't get any better.
First off, I feel safer walking/driving around Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit at night than down town where I live. The people of Mexico are the nicest, most helpful people anywhere. The only ones you have to worry about are the time share sales people. Just say no and they usually leave you alone. Of course, at Hacienda de la Costa nobody is trying to sell you a timeshare.

Next, we spent a week having a great time at a Nayarit resort on the Bay of Banderas. Everyone else left, but we had arranged to stay a couple extra days by ourselves. We had two relaxing nights at Hacienda de la Costa. The peaceful, rural setting was fantastic. We had a great view of hills, valleys, and the Pacific Ocean.

The rooms and facilities were clean and luxurious. The road is a little rough getting in, but well worth the drive.

Finally, our hosts were great. They gave all kinds of great information, They even let us pet their very sweet dogs.

We have traveled to Mexico a dozen or more times and this was the most relaxing two days ever. We will be back next year.

Can't wait to return!
This was the perfect retreat for my husband and I making a return trip to Sayulita after five years. Not only was the scenery breathtaking, but the rooms/service were exquisite. The owners and their pets were excellent hosts. We loved the advices, stories and more! the animals' companionship, especially Tripod's antics. The location's perfect to be as laid back as you want to be with full kitchens, secluded beaches, and a pool. Or adventurous if you prefer to walk or ride a cab into town. We opted for a little of both, watching hermit crabs on the beach by day and checking out local festivities by night. We would DEFINITELY stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect getaway.

A Secluded Paradise
My girlfriend and I were eager to arrive at Hacienda De La Costa. Having spent the first part of our vacation in Puerto Villarta, we were excited to spend the remainder of our time relaxing in a more secluded location. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the owners and operators Steve and Terri. They were helpful and kind to us from beginning to end.

Some of the highlights were relaxing by the wonderful pool, making friends with the other guests
We enjoyed walking the 2 mile beaten path to town each day through the jungle. Most times we would take a taxi one way as it was most convenient at times. Other nights we would take the short walk down to the secluded beach where we would enjoy the sunsets without the hustle and bustle of crowds on the beaches in Sayulita.

We made great four legged friends on our trip as Steve and Terri had 4-5 adorable dogs that were eager to come say hello when down by the pool. Not going to lie, we had thought about taking one home at one point ;)

Overall the trip was pleasant and a great escape from our priorities back home. We are excited to return again and build upon the relationships and experiences we had made. In my final thoughts I will say that our host's help to make this stay truly unforgettable. Always helpful and onsite, they work hard to make sure your experience is one that you will take with you for a very long time.

Cheers,

Hidden Gem
What a nice and lovely place, the perfect location as you can go easy to Sayulita town (a car is needed or a taxi) but you're staying in a very quiet, peaceful place. Here you'll feel the jungle, the ocean... and a family! Yes a family, all make a great job. It's a perfect place to relax and forget about the job-stress. During my stay, I went to Sayulita the first 2 days: that's enough because the town is beautiful and you can eat great, but there was a lot of people so after that I just wanted my peace back (it was Semana Santa). Here at HDLC you can forgot about holydays full of people, we drive to the beach (3 min) well equipped and there was 2 more "umbrellas" with families there, after a couple of hours nobody. The road to HDLC is so beautiful we stopped to take some pictures. So I can't recommend this place enough, and I hope it continues like this.

Bio Please mention SayulitaLife
We have traveled, lived and worked, in many places around the world. France. Australia. Spain. Nepal. England. Holland. And all over the US: Idaho, Colorado, New York, California, Washington and New England. Having long dreamed of raising our family in a small beach community in a different country, Sayulita spoke to us in ways that few places have. Our desire to live here was immediate. Less clear was how to make that happen! When we met Steve and Terri, retired expats whose vision and commitment built Hacienda de La Costa into the jewel that it is, the connection was clear. Respecting what they had created, yet wanting the small hotel to reflect our personality and imagination, we have re-christened it Cinetica (Spanish for “Kinetic”); energy through motion. We hope you love visiting us as much as we will love hosting you, inviting you into our small slice of paradise, and sharing with you why we chose Sayulita for our family.
