What a LOVING shelter in Punta de Mita town! FABULOUS temporary HOME FOR CATS and DOGS
After arriving Puerto Vallarta, we went to Walmart, picked up dog/cat items galore, and zipped down the highway straight to Wet Noses Shelter. I'd been before, and couldn't wait to see it again. It's off the main road in a quiet neighborhood, and I love the beautiful large tree providing shade for the animals. But, most important is the love and care the staff give these worthy dogs and cats who need a safe space until they are adopted. What a wonderful space they have! They were just finishing with the building of their new cat gymnasium - a very nice very large area dedicated to the beautiful kitties and cats. I found out about Wet Noses Shelter from the absolutely darling restaurant they have in San Pancho, named Casa Chucho, where all profits were donated to the shelter. I met the owners and they are absolutely lovely, committed people - committed to caring for the dogs and cats in the Punta Mita greater area; Sayulita and San Pancho. It's very apparent that the shelter is pure love; there is a lot of dedication in taking care of so many animals with needs. They do this with love, and knowledge, hands down. I believe the founder is also opening up a veterinarian clinic in Punta Mita very soon. Dedication to this cause! There are many shelters, and many good souls that take care of animals in need - but, for sure, you can trust in Wet Noses Shelter to do it so well and to assist you with the travel arrangements so a dog or cat can easily make it's way to your home in the US and even Canada. They will handle this and I highly suggest looking at their website, but also follow their Instagram for the latest dogs and cats in need!! And if you are in the Puerto Vallarta area, please call or message them via Instagram and they will provide you the address to visit. They welcome visitors - and welcome monetary donations and dog/cat supplies. Also, if you love Wet Noses Shelter, and you use Amazon - please sign up via Amazon Smile and include Wet Noses Shelter as the recipient of FREE funds from Amazon. It doesn't cost you a cent to sign up or donate via Amazon Smile. I can't say enough about how good the people behind the scene are. They truly are animal lovers and dedicated to this cause. And, if you find yourself in San Pancho (the coolest beach town in the Riviera Nayarit) then stop by Casa Chucho, one block from the beach. It's a BEAUTIFUL restaurant, affordable and great food!
