Casa Ninamu

Casa Ninamu is a unique property that sits at the edge of the jungle and footsteps away from Carricitos Beach. We spent 4 nights there, took the golf cart into town (in the pouring rain lightning/thunder) during the day and swam in the infinity pool at night. The casa is very private and well appointed. Our concierge Edgar took excellent care of us and even made sure we had groceries when we arrived. He arranged a massage for my fiancé and even helped us find our way back to Ninamu late at night when we got turned around in the jungle. From the open concept living room we had a front row view of the lightning crashing over the ocean which at times felt like we were in Hawaii. Carricitos beach was secluded and a fine place to relax and swim in the ocean in the daytime. Overall Casa Ninamu felt safe, it was clean and was everything we expected and more! We are already looking forward to our next trip back!

Can't imagine a better, more exotic, best of both worlds setting and location, to live amongst immense jungle canopy, on the beach, and walking distance to thriving Sayulita. Best of both worlds, a total escape when on property, yet so close to so much.

All that you read in these excellent reviews are absolutely true, so I won't rehash how awesome and relaxing it is to stay at Ninamu. Johann makes this a wonderful spot. Miquel does all he can to keep you happy. Edgar throws out some crazy good cooking. It is kept clean, and stocked. It is amazing. Thank you for a glorious vacation.

5 nights in Paradise. Casa Ninamu is "Open" air living where nature is close but at bay! The 4 of us tremendously enjoyed our 5 night stay. The owner Johann arranged for our pickup at the P.V. airport and we were greeted by Miguel and a pitcher of margaritas upon arrival at Casa Ninamy, Edgar, the cook prepared great family style Mexican dinner's with delicious flan for dessert. The town of Sayulita is but a 20 minute hike down the dirt road thru the jungle if you must have civilization but we were more than happy to enjoy the private beach just a 3 minute stroll thru manicured gardens and if you are a strong swimmer the temperature of the Pacific is like bath water! Internet connection is good. Both En-suite bedrooms have very quite A/C that does not block the sound of the waves and comfy beds! All to say there was absolutely NOTHING we wanted for! Can not wait to return!

I have been to Ninamu many times and would not hesitate recommending this property for anyone looking for a romantic secluded vacation rental that is just minutes from Sayulita. The architecture reminds me of places we used to stay in Fiji. In fact, staying at Ninamu is almost like staying on an island (but with shopping, restaurants, and everything else just a quick golf cart ride away.) The owners are incredible people who take great pride in the comfort of their guests.

Our experience staying at Casa Ninamu with our two boys ( ages 6 and 7) was like a dream. My wife and I were in Sayulita a few times in the 90's staying at homes and hotels right in town, and that was great. However, the town has grown a lot which is really fun and fantastic on many levels, but for our recent trip in Nov 2013 we were looking for something more private but still within walking distance to town. WE FOUND PARADISE at Johann and Anna's property!!!! The huge private grounds gave us an incredible sense of spaciousness and refinement on the edge of the jungle while at the same time only steps away from what is essentially a 200 yard long private beach framed by beautiful large rocks. Every day we were at the beach alone and it felt like we were in some movie about Paradise. Im not kidding. We've traveled a lot and this place was truly special. We could have easily stayed on the property all week and just enjoyed the 5 star services provided, but we also walked the quiet dirt jungle road to the busy town for more action, dinners and nightlife. The location of this property offers visitors an opportunity for perfect balance between the fun of town and the magical sense of isolation that is getting more and more difficult to find, all without getting in a car. And on top of all of this, the owners are DELIGHTFUL. My whole family highly recommends this place and we will return to it again and again, I am certain.

I am almost reluctant to write about this wonderful place - since I want it all for myself - but really hands down this has been the most fantastic vacation for me and my family. The house is so beautifully designed - so much love to detail - not just your average rental - every piece is hand selected and you can see the owners have been traveling a lot - there is not a single thing I would change. The house is located on a huge private property with a white sanded - almost private beach - our seven year old boys could roam around save and sound and explore nature or the beach while we could be totally relaxed and not having to worry. The house has a private pool or you could just go down to the beach and hang out on "Nikki Beach" inspired day beds and enjoy the ocean. And one of my favorite features - and most beautiful break from city life - you can get around in a golf cart and dont have to rent a car. Sayulita is a 5 min golf cart ride away - in case you feel like a little shopping or go and have some tacos. The little surfer town has a lot to offer - a fun city beach, great restaurants and shopping. But if you just feel like staying in - you can have the wonderful staff prepare you your own private dinner. I cannot wait until our next vacation – we are already planning.

Last summer my family and I were looking for a quite and relaxing "away from it all" place to stay. My wife and I are in the entertainment industry and work long hours, my son is 15 and my daughter is 12 and we all needed a weeks escape from LA. Being Brits we considered traveling back home but decided the flights too long, we looked at Hawaii and all the resorts looked too commercial. When we decided on Mexico we had so many conflicting stories. Dangerous, be careful, rainy season, this place over that place....we were lost! Then I came across the website of Casa Ninamu. It looked too good to be true. Then I immediately called and spoke to the master of the house, none other than the wonderful Mr Johann Ackermann. A delightful chap who managed to put to rest all my fears. We reserved the villa and arranged for a pick up from the airport. I wired a deposit and the holiday was booked. Simple as that. Johann sent the confirmation and told me fine wine and a perfect clay oven pizza would await our arrival. The car was at the airport, the wine was poured and the pizza was gourmet! We sat overlooking a panoramic feast, the ocean below and the sun setting amidst what I can only describe as a stunning estate. Simple, elegant and breathtaking. The guests that were there, seems handpicked. Within 30 minutes LA and all my stresses dripped away, the kids were in the pool already bonding with the owners delightful children.

The days ahead just got better and better, we felt as if we were staying with friends. Johann and his extraordinary wife Anne have created paradise. I only hesitate in writing this because I want to keep it our secret, it is rare, a gem of a place. Our children our theirs hung out the whole time. We were taken to some amazing places, the aerial para wire across the jungle, horse riding in the forests, our daughter learnt to water ski and I was given a wine tasting session with Johann in his Tuscan cellar beneath the property that I shall never forget. I could go on and on.

Let me just tell you one story about how incredible they are. Before I left Los Angeles there had been some fraudalant activity on my CC. When I arrived I was unable to withdraw any cash. The bank confirmed that my card had been used illegallly in LA and that they had put a stop on it. I had no other cards. Johann kindly gave me cash to tie us over until I returned home and could repay him. Where would you get that anywhere else these days! It could have ruined our holiday but instead we were able to enjoy...

My work takes me all over the world, I have stayed in the finest hotels from the Hotel Du Cap on the French Riviera to the Hotel Cipriani in Venice, nothing compares. The personal touch, service, friendship and aesthetic that Johann and Anne have created at casa ninamu is world class. We have found our escape and will go back for many more years to come....

I've had the pleasure of staying at Ninamu several times now - both in rainy season and in high season, with my wife on a romantic getaway and with friends. Every time it's been magical. The house has great indoor/outdoor space, a relaxing little pool, pizza ovens if you're so inclined to cook... and he grounds are impeccable - huge sweeping lawn dotted with palm trees running down to your own semi-private beach...

While we love the energy and excitement of downtown Sayulita it's such a treat to be able to return to your own private paradise, only a few minute ride from town. The owners and caretaker are absolutely fabulous to deal with, they helped us with whatever we needed - from recommendations for restaurants, excursions, taxis, you name it.

In short, it's awesome. Feels like a little home away from home for us. Can't wait to go back!
