Flor de la Playa Complex

Our group booked this location for a gathering of best friends from different spots around the globe and we could not have been happier. It was private enough for our group, but we could watch all of the activity on the beach as well. The sunsets seemed never-ending and the view included the whole of Sayulita beach. The walk to town was easy though booking of golf carts was handy on some days as well. Tamra helped us organise in house breakfast and dinners which were wonderful. Robert is onsite and was available for anything we needed. The cleaning staff were thorough and we loved seeing their smiling faces every day. It was the best week and I want to go back as soon as possible. Authentic, comfortable and beautiful.

We spent four days staying in the Hobelisco casita. I can't say enough about how beautiful the grounds were and how wonderful it was to be just a few short steps from the beach. We enjoyed how quiet the north end of the beach was, and it was a very short walk to get into town.

We absolutely loved Flor de la Playa for our wedding. The stonework, grounds, and pool are absolutely beautiful and perfect for a relaxing vacation. I picked this location for our wedding because I love that it actually has Mexican character rather than looking more modern in style. Robert was great and very helpful! Always there when we needed him but not intrusive. We LOVE his dogs as well!! The cleaning staff was also amazing!

The Flor de la Playa is a small complex of exquisite independent homes at the extreme north end of Sayulita. Because it's a ten-minute walk either down Avenida del Palmar or the beach, it preserves the beauty and peaceful atmosphere of Sayulita's magical past. If you are looking for the atmosphere of pre-development Sayulita, look no further.
The owner, Robert Whitney, an American master stonemason has been living on-site and has developed and maintained the property for 27 years. The result is a thoughtfully designed and meticulously crafted in which each unit has complete privacy. The only noise is the crashing surf--no traffic or noise from neighboring properties. Directly in front are a few palapas and beach chairs on a sand mezzanine for the exclusive use of the guests. Wonderfully, the beach vendors don't come down as far at this property. One afternoon, we saw whales directly in front of the property.
We rented the one-bedroom, El Nido cottage, which had a full well-equipped kitchen. The bedroom was very large with a hotel-quality bed. Linens, towels, and the unit had a daily maid service. It was meticulously clean. From our second-floor balcony, overlooking the pool and beach, we could watch waves breaking on the beach.
Robert was the ultimate host. Whenever we asked for anything from a spare wine bottle opener to his take on development in Sayulita, he was willing to share both his time and knowledge.
We liked our El Nido unit so much, we are coming back, bringing friends, and will rent Robert's 3 bedroom beach house. Look no further. Flor de la Playa is the ultimate Sayulita rental.

We just stayed here in May 2018 for our wedding. While the location is amazing and made for a stunning place to have our wedding ceremony and reception with unbeatable views of the sunset and a beautiful beach, the accommodation itself was not the best. It is on the older side, the air conditioning barely worked (and only in the bedrooms not the living areas), the fridge leaked and didn’t work properly, the living areas aren’t very comfortable for a group to spend time in, the pool was not the nicest, and we even had guests having major problems with insects biting them at night. The managers said they were just mosquitos when we informed them - they defintely were not! The bites were much worse and only effected the guests in one house which makes me suspect some kind of infestation. In addition, the wifi barely worked if at all, which made trying to communicate with our guests very difficult. I understand things are different in Mexico and would normally be totally fine with these things, however we saw from our guests that there are much nicer accOmodations in sayulita that would’ve made our wedding stay more comfortable for us and our guests. If I were to do it again, I would stay in one of the nicer (and more affordable!) places and just have my ceremony/reception at a venue. There were many beautiful, more comfortable, and better value places nearby.

We recently had a 60 person wedding in the front house and rented the entire Flor Complex for our family. What a fantastic property! We could not be happier with our experience. AC units in every room, comfortable beds, full kitchens, friendly house keeping service, clean pool, and enough chairs for everyone to lounge on the front lawn or walk down to the private beach for sunsets. The owner Robert was very friendly, offering help if we ever needed any. Its the perfect place to have a small wedding, but also perfect for the entire family to just hang out and relax. We highly recommend the Flor Complex and there is no doubt we will be back to Sayulita and wanting to stay here again. Thanks Robert!!

It was an incredibly wonderful way to host our family of 13 - ages 2 to 68....lovely, quiet location with fabulous beach view and access. Many options to all be together or find a niche to be alone. We rented a golf cart which was a great find and enjoyed the town of Sayulita - the surfing, shopping and dining. The owner was on the premises which made our stay was very comfortable and easy to get local information. Hoping to make a return trip in near future....

A very special place to spend vacations, holidays and weekends. I want to thanks Don Robert for the excellent service and we will definitely will come back. The view is incredible, there is no such words to describe what it is to wake up and have this beautiful sight of the sea in front of you.

the house and the rooms are very comfortable terrace is ideal for enjoying the sea view. the architecture of the house makes it a pleasant place to rest. and the beach is 20 meters so you can enjoy the sun and sand in seconds
