Chilly Willy Hiking tours in Sayulita is owned by one of the town's favorite locals, Felipe (Chilly). For over 30 years, Chilly has introduced visitors to Sayulita's beautiful jungle and its secret beaches for fishing, surfing, or even just to have a fresh coconut. Apart from being a tour guide, Chilly is also the town’s President of Environmental Monitoring. For any emergencies such as an animal bite, an iguana stuck in a tree, or even being lost, he is the right person to contact. Chilly has been serving the town and defending Sayulita's land and community since he was very young. He loves Sayulita and knows it like the palm of his hand.

Chilly Willy Hiking Tours in Sayulita will lead you on an unforgettable adventure. He will introduce you to all nature’s species. From the trees to all the colorful birds and animals. We offer 6 different routes for hiking (subject to change due to weather in the rainy season).
Be prepared with the following items to assure safety & comfort during your hike:

  • Hiking backpack/bag (and a paper/plastic bag to carry fruits)
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • Hiking boots or shoes
  • Do not Wear Perfume 
  • Do not wear any bright colors (dark colors are best )
  • Mosquito Repellent 
  • Water

Hiking Routes

Monkey Mountain- Breathtaking 360' view of the beaches, coastline, and seemingly endless vistas of the Riviera Nayarit

Jaguar Route-  Route begins in San Ignacio - A gorgeous jungle walk between trees and pure breathable rivers to cool off

Cascada del Venado (Waterfall)- Located 1798 meters above sea level, is staggered and has 3 levels. It is also known as La Judía waterfall. It has crystal clear water that descends from the Cerro La Judía forests

Javalin Route-  A river located in San Pancho. There is a 15 -meter waterfall with pure water

Rio Agucatal-  The river where you'll find avocado fields, lemon fields, and oranges. It is highly recommended to bring a bag so that fruits can be carried back home

Arqueologia - Alta Vista Nayarit- An archaeological zone, which contains an important sample of petroglyphs, located near the coastal town of Chacala

Each route is priced at $45 USD per adult and $35 USD per child (10 & under). The routes are between 4-5 hours long and include transportation to and from the route's location.
