Tragedy Averted

Halfway through our family trip to Sayulita, tragedy struck 3/4 of our family with what may have been food poisoning or other. We weren’t sure what we should do but shortly after we were given Dr. Chavez’s information, our fears quickly subsided. After explaining every option, Dr. Chavez provided my wife (the whole family really) with the highest quality medical care and service we needed. He was so kind and thoughtful that he made himself available to us not only into the late hours of the night but also the following morning should we have need of additional care. I can’t begin to thank Dr. Chavez enough and highly recommend both he and his clinic! If you are ever in any need of medical care, seek him out!

Stomach bug - life saver

My fiancé and I were unfortunate enough to pick up either food poisoning or a stomach bug. After a full day of misery, my friends located Dr Jose’s practice and within a very short amount of time, his smiling face entered our Airbnb.

He is just about the friendliest and kindest person that instantly made us feel comfortable with the sense that we were in good hands.

He was patient and asked questions (and speaks perfect English for those of us whose espanol is severely lacking) to make sure he fully understood our situation. One shot and a few meds later, and we were all situated. We felt significantly better the next day.

I can’t emphasize enough how thoughtful and caring he is. Highly recommend if you need it.

Professional, kind and gentle

Suffered a pretty nasty lip injury which required stitches. Awkward and difficult but Dr. Chavez was amazing. Kind and patient he did a great job stitching me up and I am grateful that I was able to visit him. Price was very reasonable all things considered and only for the Doctor I would be in a lot more trouble. The staff were also great, Nurse Itzel was very professional and helped to put me at ease with her friendliness and helpful nature.

I had a medical emergency and Dr. Jose Luis saved me!

On December 21, my family came to Sayulita for a week-long Christmas holiday. This is when/where Dr. Jose Luis Chavez intervened with care and compassion to change my life. I walked into the Bahia Banderas clinic at Manuel Navarrete #3 at about 11 am on December 22. I went to see the doctor because my daughter, a doctorly trained nurse and my wife encouraged me to see a doctor. I had increasingly jaundiced eyes and skin and was generally not feeling well. In less than 20 minutes after my arrival, Dr. Jose Luis diagnosed that I was on the verge of a crisis, drew blood for subsequent testing, and made a referral to an internist at Hospital CMQ in Bucerias, about 20km away, to have my blood tested and for a CT scan. He even called a taxi for me and my wife. In less than 90 minutes I had completed the scan and was admitted to the hospital for an emergency gallbladder removal surgery. I had tried to bargain with Dr. Jose Luis. I had wanted to put off the referral to the hospital until my blood work was completed, likely not until late that afternoon. I told Dr. Jose Luis that I would then fly back to Arizona for care if that is what the blood work indicated. When I suggested that, he clearly and compassionately told me “No!” His caring command of the situation likely saved my life. I may not have made it back to Arizona had he not insisted on sending me to the hospital. Thank you, Dr. Jose Luis!

The Bahia Banderas clinic has excellent ratings for good reason. If you need medical attention in Sayulita, go see Dr. Jose Luis.

Great Service

Our daughter came down with an ear infection on a Saturday night and we were able to see Dr. Jose the following morning. He was very nice and we were in and out with medication in less than 20 minutes. The cost was reasonable and I would highly recommend!!

Great, quick house call service

My father injured his back on vacation, and shortly after contacting this company, they sent a doctor to our rental villa to check on him. He wound up giving him a steroid injection which is the only thing that helped him after several days of pain, and then also prescribed some muscle relaxants. Very nice doctor and incredibly reasonable cost.

Dr. Chavez really helped me.

I could not be more thankful to Dr. Chavez. I needed a PCR test to get back home and all medical offices were closed. I contacted Dr. Chaves and he assured me he could get a test result back to me in time to get back home. He did as promised. He was always available to me and always very calm and helpful.
