written by Greer Fawcett The second annual earth day event was a huge success! On April 22nd, 2024, hundreds of people gathered to clean up Sayulita, learn about the environment, and celebrate the lovely place we call home. Out of the 200 attendees, there were folks of all ages and from all over the world, including many locals of Sayulita and San Ignacio. Together we danced, laughed, learned, and ultimately came together to clean up Sayulita. The afternoon started with information booths from local non-profits and artisans. Be sure to check out some of the awesome participants, including our local recycling center…

Hi! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?I am Fernando, a Mexican photographer based in Sayulita. This town has been home for my wife and kids for over eight years now. I love life and people! That’s why I have been a portrait and social event photographer for over 12 years now, as an independent photographer across Mexico.  How did you first land in Sayulita?I always wanted to live by the beach, so I traveled with my family to try Sayulita out without knowing anyone here. We immediately felt in love with the place. I quickly connected with the community…

Hi! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? My name is Leon and I’m a 28-year-old photographer and videographer from Germany. Besides my passion for content creation, I love to spend my time at the beach and go for long runs to stay balanced and keep my creativity flowing. I can often be seen with my dog Eo, who I rescued from the streets here in Mexico, or at my favorite yoga studio in town. How did you first land in Sayulita? I visited Sayulita for the first time back in 2019 after I finished my apprenticeship back…

Once upon a time, not so long ago, in a small town named after another small town (Sayula), lived a small girl foreign to the land. This little girl spent her days running around barefoot, swimming in the ocean and exploring the surrounding jungle. Sometimes she was chased by a Guacamaya (a big beautiful Macaw, this one was red, blue and green) on her way to school, and she would flee, running as quick as her little legs could carry her. The source of the Guacamayas anger was her jealousy of the little girls friendship with its owner, another kid…

Hi! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Sure, I was born in Toronto but I’ve lived globally for most of my adulthood, settling in Sayulita three years ago. I am a professional wellness writer, with various healing modality certifications; however, my life’s passion and main focus is Conscious Connected Breathwork (or Breathwork for short).  Contrary to popular belief, Breathwork has nothing to do with learning how to breathe or inducing relaxation. The term Breathwork refers to a practice where you induce altered states of consciousness using just your breath, and these altered states are conducive to deep…
