Wonderful house for our two month stay
We stayed for February and March 2015, and are planning to return in 2016. The house is located at the end of a quiet street & one of the neighbours showed us the short cut to the beach through the jungle trail. The walk to the beach was about 7 minute, and to town about 10mins. You will need good flat shoes/sandals as the town is cobblestones or dirt roads. We live in a small community on the west coast of Canada, so this is the perfect spot for us. This was our second stay in Sayulita and we find the town very safe and the locals very helpful. A simple, "Hola, Buenas Dias" makes a huge difference to making friends. The house worked very well for us, and apart from the usual chickens and dogs is in a very quiet spot of this sometimes busy little town. We all brought and used earplugs for sleeping. The house just needs a coat of exterior paint and it will look as good as in the photos. We used the upstairs bedroom and when friends came to stay they used the downstairs bedroom & bathroom. The beds are very comfortable, a king up and a queen down.
We purchased a new frying pan and some wine glasses and donated them to the house., as they were very inexpensive. We contacted the Property Manager as the coffee pots weren't very good & there weren't lids for the saucepans, and Rudolfo arrived with a brand new coffee pot & a large saucepan with lid. We requested a BBQ and a brand new one was delivered, which was great for outdoor cooking. We brought a good sharp knife and sharpener with us, as most rentals don't provide good knives. There are enough plates and utensils for six people, and when we had more for dinner they brought their own from their house. Belen, the housekeeper came twice weekly, and was wonderful. She changed the bedding weekly and if we needed fresh towels that was done twice weekly if needed. We made arrangements for four Tommy Bahamas beach chairs to be purchased before we arrived, the owners paid for two and we paid for two and donated them to the house, and it was great having them along with beach umbrellas and boogie boards. We brought our own beach towels as those provided were quite small and very well used. We had six of the huge water bottles upon arrival and replacements were complimentary. The gardeners Pancho and Vincente came twice a week and were friendly too. The safe is large enough to hold all our valuables, including a lap top. Sayulita is a very safe community and I walked from town (10mins) at night alone without any problems (I'm a woman in my mid sixties) There are many inexpensive fresh fruit and veggie shops nearby along with places to buy fresh fish and meat. We cooked most of our meals at the house, and ate out occasionally trying out the many delicious restaurants in town. We used the laundry a couple of minutes walk away. We dropped of the dirty clothes in the morning and collect them in the evening, all folded for $5 for a huge load. The house is constructed to take advantage of the shade and even has a ceiling fan on the downstairs patio. We loved the outdoor living aspect of the home and the dining table is outdoors. This may be our home for several winters to come, thanks for sharing your home with us.
